Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some questions you might have.

How Does Your Pricing Work Exactly?

While the service page starts the pricing for one-off projects and retainers at $300 per thousand words and $3500 per month respectively, I charge per project. The prices mentioned in the service page are meant to help keep my process as transparent as possible and give you an idea of what to expect before the final invoice is prepared.

The final price depends on the complexity of the project alongside its duration, among other factors The best way to find out just how much you’ll need to invest is by reaching out. Afterward, specific figures can be negotiated. That said, considering the freedom to request revisions as well as my experience creating stellar content, it’s completely worth it.

Do You Offer Any Discounts?

Yes, I do offer generous discounts on a case-by-case basis. You are likely to qualify for one if you are a small business. It’s my way of supporting you through the different stages of your growth. You are also likely to qualify for a discount if you’re are making large or long-term content commitments with me.

How Long Do You Take to Complete Projects?

This depends on the complexity, type, and size of the project as well as my availability and agreed lead time. Blog posts and in-depth guides can take anywhere between three to ten days to complete. Content strategies often require at least a month to finish. E-books also take at least a month to wrap up.

These timelines aren’t set in stone and can increase or decrease based on the project itself as well as agreed lead time as stated earlier. That said, it’s worthy of note that good content takes time. Your customers are already overwhelmed by several mediocre articles, blogs, and e-books they don’t want to read. Patiently creating something that positively impacts their experience with you is a huge step in the right direction.

Will Your Services Directly Lead to More Sales?

While I would love to give you a direct yes or no, the truth is that marketing isn’t that simple and any other professional in the industry would tell you the same.

For starters, content marketing is a long-term investment. You’re unlikely to get 15,000 new customers from a single article when you only just started publishing content two weeks ago. HubSpot reported $1.3bn in revenue at the end of 2021. While it seems like an overnight success, they had started investing heavily in content marketing and other inbound methodologies years ago to support their outbound techniques.

Secondly, different factors contribute to sales and customer acquisition. If your product isn’t the right fit for members of your target market, it would be hard to change their minds about you. To illustrate, while trying to pick a hosting company, I had two options. One was perfect with an in-depth knowledgebase which works great for me because I like to teach myself how to handle projects as I go along. Their customer care was also very polite and responsive and their blog and social channels were populated with valuable posts.

Despite all these excellent qualities, I chose a competitor over them and made a year-long financial commitment simply because they didn’t offer their prices in a suitable currency. While it wasn’t much of a big deal, I just preferred something simpler. No amount of marketing could have changed that for me.

Having said all that, I can assure you that I have written content that has generated impressive results before based on an in-depth understanding of the target market. I would be drawing from my years of experience as well as detailed research of your unique needs as a company to create nothing short of the best that has substantial chances of succeeding.

Finally, you can rest assured that certain pieces of content will offer long-term value all things being equal. Case studies, for example, will always be useful to your sales team when they’re talking to potential clients. It would also help your target market see exactly how you can help them solve their problems and make them that much more interested in buying from you. Marketing can be overwhelming. But I’ve got you.

What People Are Saying

Segun’s engagement with us started out with a 6-month commitment. In that time, he created an impressive content strategy that truly shaped our inbound marketing efforts with enough content ideas and topic clusters to last us months. I do think this has been a fruitful partnership. Overall, I’m happy with the work that Oluwasegun produced for us. The research is solid, the content ideas are spot on, and it is clear that he spent a lot of time on each piece. What’s more, his communication throughout the process was professional and timely, making it easy to work with him as required.

Segun’s writing and ability to create great content has clearly evolved over the years and he has established himself as a professional in the content marketing field. It’s the reason we were happy to accept him as a contributing writer on Business Insider Africa and would always be happy to give his expertise and thought leadership pieces an audience.

Victor Oluwole

Head & Editor, Business Insider Africa

Segun has been an absolute gem! He asked all the right questions, was responsive, and was a pleasure to work with. We’ll definitely consider him for future work in our agency.

Edan Ben-Atar

Founder, Weblime

We partnered with Segun for well over a year to create content for our clients. His writing and versatility with content is excellent, he always seemed to ask the right questions before working on briefs and he required almost no review on the vast majority of his work before publication. It didn’t take long before he was assimilated into the company as a fulltime Managing Editor and, all things considered, it would be a pleasure to keep working with him. I would certainly recommend.

Aleks Ivan

CEO, Media Gearheads

Segun’s engagement with Insight Publicis lasted three months. He was a very valuable asset to the team. We collaborated with digital strategists and other content creators on a number of marketing campaigns. The content and ideas he was directly responsible for generated at least 115,000 views and engagements across relevant channels as at the last time of reporting on the campaign

Sule Anakhuagbor

Former Senior Digital Art Director , Insight Publicis

Segun started out with us by working with the in-house marketer on our web copy. He understood that we were targeting high-profile clients and decision makers who would turn away at the slightest sign of mediocrity in value proposition. With that understanding, he adjusted our web copy to satisfaction and kept giving feedback on relevant parts until they came out crisp and clean. Shortly afterward, we offered him a long-term contract as a content strategy consultant with our company.
